Japanese in Argentina

Have you ever given thought to how Japanese arrived in Argentina? My friend, Gus Hokama, a Nikkei Argentinian has put together a very nice video about the immigration of Japanese to Argentina and the hardships that were suffered. According to Wikipedia, there are 65,000 Argentinians of Japanese descent. My own research indicates that some 80% of that population is Okinawan.

If you're interested, please watch the video, that is narrated in Japanese and subtitled in Spanish. The song is sung by Gus Hokama, by the way.

Pray for me as well as I plan to be in Argentina from November 11-13.
