Engaging off-site

JEMS South America department is continuing to make remote, digital options available to their missions candidates as they prepare for the field. While face-to-face training sessions are ideal in terms of the opportunities for interaction, we understand that there are other learning methods. I've recently put to Youtube several training modules for use the missions candidates while they may be offsite or unable to participate in scheduled training days. I present sessions on preparing a cross-cultural testimony (below) as well as how to share the gospel message amid the noise of other cultures, traditions and beliefs.

As an example, we've seen testimonies shared here at home that may not pass the "smell test" overseas. That's simply because our sharing has to be filtered through another culture, language and time. When given three minutes to share your experience with Jesus Christ, how is that done in a way that communicates effectively? The video below speaks to that challenge.

Another video that has been prepared has to do with sharing the gospel or "good news" of Jesus Christ. If you would like to learn how to present the gospel to someone, you are welcome to listen to the Gospel Presentation video.
