On the ground in Brazil!
Praise God that our JEMS summer missions teams made it safely to their ministry locations in the cities of Presidente Prudente (SP) and São José dos Campos (SP)!
Arriving on June 29th, major props to team leader, Holly, for negotiating the transitions between the two major airports! The team from mostly San Francisco State had to figure out how to get from the international airport in Guarulhos, São Paulo to the domestic airport in downtown São Paulo, over an hour away by bus. But they were successful and after another hour of flying, arrived to the welcome of the church family in Presidente Prudente.
Our second JEMS team, representing the Mission Valley Free Methodist Church in San Gabriel was met at the airport by their host church. From the international airport, they were taken to their ministry city about 1 hour away in São José dos Campos.

After a day of rest and orientation, both groups, in their respective cities began their ministries with local leadership and with visitors from the community.

Please pray as the Mission Valley Team transitions to Lima, Peru tomorrow morning (July 8) for another week of ministry. Our JEMS ministry partner, Pastor Francis Oishi, will be receiving them for an additional week of service.
The SF State team will be traveling to their new city of ministry (Pompéia, SP) next Monday (July 10). Pray for safe travels and positive contacts in the new churches.
