For Your Prayers . . .

. . . I say, Thank you! Merci! Obrigado! Gracias! Arigato!

Many have asked since my return from Brazil, "How did it go?" You can determine my answer by the look on my face in the photo above. It was marvelous! My extended and photographically supported reports can be found in the blog pages just below. But in short, it was a wonderful provision and gift of God.

For those who were praying about my dialysis treatments, thank you. The last of the confirmations came after I landed in São Paulo international airport. The notification was a little late for my comfort, but it provided a reminder that there is always much that is out of our control that we MUST leave in the hands of a faithful and able God.

For those praying about my language ministry, thank you. The first Bible study I would lead would be on the evening of the day I arrived. Talk about jumping into the deep end! And although it is embarrassing to think back on that first message, it's important to remember that it is not about me. It's about the God about whom I had come to proclaim.

Later that evening, I would find myself weeping in my small bedroom as I reflected on God's goodness in permitting me to return to serve in a country, among a people I had come to love. Pastor John weeping. Take a picture of that! That's going to be a rare sight on Instagram.

For that moment of joy and emotion, thank God and thank all of you for your prayers which allowed the doors to be opened to return to the mission field.

Thank you. Thank you. And God bless you!
