Changes are part and parcel of missions travel

Foreign travel is a challenge. Brazil is a country in upheaval and everything is subject to change and adjustment. Even airline flights. The changes I received from my agency today are not as significant as the change that affected our first Brazilian team to serve in Argentina. Their flight had been changed to one day prior to the original schedule. When we arrived at the Buenos Aires airport, we were told "Your flight left yesterday." But but, we stammered . . . . We checked our confirmed flight itinerary printout and yes, the team was scheduled to leave on the day we arrived. And the time we arrived at the airport was appropriate to the normal check in time for that day.

The counter agent said, "the airline sent out an update by email earlier in the week!" The problem is that we were serving at a campground in the Argentinian countryside with no access to the internet, so OF COURSE we didn't receive the update. Technically I suppose they were right to say that it wasn't their problem if we couldn't access the internet. They did their part to inform us. Okay. Our team was able to secure a reservation for a flight on the next day. Thankfully at no additional cost.

Things continue to be a bit unsteady as I received notification of changes today. Most of them were simple matter of 10 minutes. Another change was was five hours ahead. What a shock it would be to hear, "Your flight left this morning." Let's hope that won't be the case as we count down the days to departure later this month.

The updated calendar is provided below for our ministry partners. Changes are indicated in ORANGE.

Thanks for listening. Please remember to pray!
